All Interfaces
1) To avoid damage to PC and/or interface USB port always follow connection order where USB connection made last.
If you plug interface to USB and Device is not detected check USB cable first
Reboot computer
if you get Windows message ” USB Device not recognized ”
try to use other USB port or PC
if you get same problem
Interface has to be shipped to our repair-shop.
2) for interfaces numbered 6xxx if you not using JProg/Jpad 5-10 times a day
try to keep it connected to USB to keep internal battery power
This is not the case for Jprog or Mini interface numbers 7xxx
hardware damage may occur!
3) If you just purchased your hardware and never used security update system
send email to support and ask to register your interface on server
and include information; your name and Interface number.
When using security update webpage to send security update request
make sure you copy whole number else number is invalid and server will not respond.
4) If vehicle OBD2 connector have no POWER on terminal 16
NEVER USE EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY IF OBD2 PLUG IS CONNECTED TO VEHICLE!
5) Never Use accessories and adapters from Jprog-2 Jprog-3 Jprog-4 on JProg 6/7, JPad 6/7.
they are not compatible and will damage your interface
JPad advices
1) setup internet connection through Ethernet RJ45 socket
this will let you download new software releases directly from our website
2) when shutting down use SUSPEND option from windows menu
3) if you not using Jpad 5-10 times a day
try to keep it connected to USB to keep internal battery power
use left side USB connector
For JPad interface numbrer 7xxx you must have blue LED if LED is ON battery is Fully charged
4) Always check JPad system date and time. If it is wrong try to adjust.
Disconnect power and recheck after 3-4 hours. If you see that date is wrong again
its time to change JPad battery on the blue board Battery part number CR1220.
If this is looks complicated please contact our support.
5) Do NOT Activate Password for JPad. If you do you will not be able to login in to windows
the only way to restore is to ship to the repair shop.
6) Jpad internally connected to VCI module using COM-2 if you ger error “Interface disconnected!”
check port selection
JProg advices
1) if you have problems pairing Jprog interface and android software
because you can not input letters in PIN window please use Jporg utilities
to change PIN of Bluetooth to 0000
2) if you not using JProg 5-10 times a day
try to keep it connected to USB to keep internal battery power
For JProg interface numbers 7xxx and Mini you must have blue LED if LED is ON battery is Fully charged
NOTE!!! if battery is discharged interface memory will be erased JProg7 and Mini will require board replacement
